Throttle Return Spring 2.8L TPI?
Can anyone tell me how invloved rewinding the throttle return spring on 2.8L v6 fuel injected RS is? Has a carb spring to pull the throttle back to idle. Sometimes it sticks at stop lights and revs to 400 RPM. I have to tap the gas pedal to get it to release. Help please! Trying to get my RS back on the road to be my daily driver.
Re: Throttle Return Spring 2.8L TPI?
Hmmmmm...... should be a simple process of twisting the spring BACKWARDS against the normal direction of throttle shaft rotation so that it's pre-loaded against it and always trying to close the throttle. There is a "catch" on the throttle arm where the spring end hooks onto the throttle arm.
I suspect there is more going on here or the previous owner would simply have done this instead of resorting to an external "helper" spring.
