will this work ?

i have a 87 305 tpi 5spd formula and im looking to do the tpi vortec and i can get a set of free 350 vortec heads but will they bolt right up to my 305 block is there any mods or fabrication that needs to be done if i did this would it have to be retimed any answers will help alot thanks

You'll need the Scoggin Dickey / Edelbrock Vortec TPI intake manifold, and a set of headers. The stock intake nor exhaust manifolds will not bolt up to those heads.

Also the 350 Vortec heads have 64cc combustion chambers, while your 305 heads have 58cc chambers, so you will lose some compression.

In my opinion, its not worth it.

Yes that is going backwards. You will lose compression
