sounds like a massive Vacuum leak, running terrible

Just got the camaro back together. Has not been driven in almost 6 years. It is a 1989 350 TPI, stock intake/throttle body. Only mod is the airfoil between the butterflies on the throttle body. When it runs, badly, it has a massive sucking sound right at the lower hole on the airfoil. Is that normal? Even with the airbox lid on, and locked down, 25 feet away you can hear what sounds like a massive vacuum leak at idle. Car stumbles, and runs bad. it has been so long since I drove it, I can't remember if that noise was normal. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance

It could be that you have a bad IAC valve that is not closing.
I would pull the IAC and check it out closely.

Thats normall for a TPI to make a sucking sound from the TB. What codes do you have?

Re: sounds like a massive Vacuum leak, running terrible

Thank you guys. I did end up checking the IAC, and it was
pretty carboned up, so I cleaned it up. Seems
to be a little quieter now. Didn't run any better. After a little
more research, I found the 1,3,5,7 injectors were not getting
power. After changing the fuse, I now have all 8 cylinders up
and running.
