vette intake??
vette intake??
ok i have an 85 z28 with the lb9 305 tpi, and i was just looking at it the other night and realized if you remove teh hood latch mechanism that a corvette cold air intake could possibly fit in there, but i dont wanna spend 300+ on it and it not fit i was wondering if any one els has done this or knows if it would fit or not?

Re: vette intake??
The Corvette air intake is completely different, designed to sit at an angle in front of the radiator. Unless you completely hack the crap out of your car in order to get the radiator to tilt back, it won't fit. Plus, you'd have to remove the hood latch and use hood pins instead. After all that, you'll have gained nothing performance-wise, because the stock Camaro airbox is perfectly adequate for the airflow demands of a stock or semi-modified TPI car.
Re: vette intake??
yeah ive already taken out the latch system, and i measured one today on a c5 and it looks like it might fit if i just file down the plastic on the radiator cover, and i dont mind the stock air box but i like the cone air filters way more and wnat to have a way to put those on it while keeping the same intake idea. thanks for your impute tho
