Pulled my L98, Questions for a mild build.
So I pulled my motor because it was covered in 25 years worth of crap and I couldnt stand it anymore . Plus it needed some love . Now I want to first say Im not buildin a racecar. I just want to get a few more ponies and I simply enjoy working on my car.
Here are a few questions I have and if anyone can answer them or give me some advise that would be great .
What cam can I get that will work with my stock heads? I am willing to get a tune but I dont want to do any machining to the heads. lt1 cam perhaps?
Will eliminating my EGR negatively effect anything ? Smog and emissions stuff is already gone .
What are my options for rockers ? Keeping in mind that I dont want to do any machining and am pondering a cam.
Now the car already has headers / full exhaust , Minor porting to the intake, bosch 22lb injectors, MSD coil and dizzy. what else should I do while its put ? its down to a short block right now so I figured I would knock some stuff out while I can.

Popular cam for stock heads was the crane powermax 2032 cam. Its abit bigger, makes good power but its now being sold for 100 bucks more than it should be worth. its around 400 bucks now and most cams are 250-300 for factory rollers. I'd just spend 330 bucks for a Jones custom grind on a low lift lobe to fit in stock heads and get some hp/tq without machining heads. Just run some beehive type springs or run manley 22410 springs I believe with +.050 offset locks and .050" worth of shims under neath the spring seats
