fuel pressure zero right after turning ignition off

I have a 89 IROC-Z with a 350 TPI. When I turn on the key, you can hear the fuel pump running, then turns off. It has pressure then. After I turn the key off and check the pressure I show no pressure at all. My question is: Is this correct or should it hold pressure? Thank You and God Bless US All...John

Re: fuel pressure zero right after turning ignition off

If it should hold pressure. What would be the fix? New fuel pressure regulator? The fuel pump was changed about 9 months ago. Thank You all in advance and God Bless US All....John

Re: fuel pressure zero right after turning ignition off

Could be leaking FPR, leaking injectors, leaking pump check valve, or an external leak.

Re: fuel pressure zero right after turning ignition off

Well it looks like I have a bunch of troubleshooting to do.. Just where to start first. I don't believe there is an external leak in the system. Underside of car is dry everywhere. Fuel pressure regulator first or injectors? How would you check the Fuel injectors? Thank You and God Bless US All....John

Re: fuel pressure zero right after turning ignition off

It should holp psi but if the car gets full fuel psi and starts right up, you really don't have a problem.. Mines been that way 4 20 years.
