Cold start injector removal

Hello me and my friend took my 1987 TPI out of my Trans Am and swapped it for a Carb'ed 350. We do want to re-use the 305 TPI motor/ecm set up in another car. What we were wondering was about the cold start injector. We know we can plug it, but does anything have to be done to the ECM to make sure the car will start? I dont think my car had the anti theft system if that matters and as mentioned before it was an 87 trans am 305 tpi. Any help/instruction on the topic would be great. Thanks in advance.

Re: Cold start injector removal

CSI is a independent standalone system not connected to anything else.
It only gets power when the engine is cranking over and has a thermo switch with a timer that controls when and how long the injector sprays.
As soon as the engine gets to a certain temp it is no longer in effect
when cranking
Plug hole and delete wiring to the thermo switch ( front of intake ) then to starter terminal
CSI thermo switch is the brass unit with hex head to the left of the
sensor circled ( the CTS )

However ,
if you live somewhere where it gets cold you will want the '89 305 MAF TPI tune for the ECM that gives extra fuel cold start through the 8 injectors
( same as what the CSI did on early engines )

I never had a problem with cold starts in summer with the CSI deleted and stock tune,
even in mild winter just took a little longer cranking over to fire up.
