Possible 5 Speed Swap
Hey guys, I'm currently in the process of swapping out the engine from my parts car to my Iroc but Ive had my eye on an ad here in town for a complete 5 Speed swap for a Camaro. I've always wanted a 5 speed car but I couldn't bring myself to let my Iroc continue to rot in the barn I rescued her from so I've settled for a 700R4 at the moment. They want 600 for the whole shebang and I'm honestly thinking about going for it (plus ive got some 3.73's to throw in the rear to even it out
) What do you guys think should I go for it?

Re: Possible 5 Speed Swap
One big question is if the transmission is good or wore out. Also is it a V8 trans or a V6 trans set up. I would consider it a little high but might still consider it if I was looking for one. No shipping as it is local for you is worth something. Is it truely complete, bell housing, flywheel, torque arm mount, clutch and bolts, hydraulics and pedals? Still expect to need a complete new clutch.
I found a V8 T5 here w/ bell only for 350 but do not know about prices in your area. I ended up buying a T56. That T5 is still sitting there condition unknown but it is probably good.

Re: Possible 5 Speed Swap
I would definitely go for it just to bang through the gears. My 83 had a 700r4 in it that the clutches were going out in so I found a firebird body with a 5 speed setup in it. It was pretty straightforward of course the linkage was manual no need for hydraulics. And don't get another driveshaft or crossmember as they are the exact same. The worst part is cutting out the floorpan for the stick.
