Car Won't start..HELP!!

On my way to work and the car wont turn over..no hiccup (which would indicate fuel pump) or nothing. Pulled the number 1 plug wire and ground it out with a screwdriver, no spark. It was working fine all day, then suddenly (when Im trying to leave for work) it wont start. Any suggestions?? I checked all the fuses and they look fine.

Re: Car Won't start..HELP!!

check fusible link?

also try the battery connections, IMO these batteries are the worst for connectivity, i'm always having problems it seems.

try turning on the headlights, if they turn on strong, battery connection is good, if theyre dull or not at all, check your battery

Re: Car Won't start..HELP!!

battery is good..nice strong crank

Check the pink wire going into the coil- good
checked the pink coming out of coil- good

How do I check if the coil itself is good?

Re: Car Won't start..HELP!!

You can check the coil primary and secondary resistance but more than likely the icm failed.

Re: Car Won't start..HELP!!

Supposedly the engine was rebuilt app. 12k ago. The distributor cap and rotor are MSD parts. How it corroded out that badly so quickly is beyond me. But then again, nothing on this car surprises me anymore.

Re: Car Won't start..HELP!!

replaced cap and rotor. Still no start. Went to check the coil, terminal to ground is bad. Went to check the pick up coil in the distributor, the connector just fell apart. So, looks like i need a new coil and distributor.

I am going to change the module out while it is apart, because it IS apart. Only thing staying original is the gear and housing.

Re: Car Won't start..HELP!!

Bought all new parts today (about $20 shy of a reman distributor), put it all together. Runs like a champ once again.
