Im having trouble with my 89 iroc, its staying in open loop, i put a new o2 sensor in it and checked that i had continuity between the sensor and the computer and i did, the only problem i noticed was that the tps voltage read by plugging in the laptop and using tunerpro is lower than the actual voltage at the tps, i was wondering if that is why it would be staying in open loop. i have checked the coolant temp sensor and it is fine. i guess the only other idea would be the computer is bad just thought i would ask before getting a new computer.

 

Are you checking the 02 going down the road or sitting in the driveway at idle?

 

tried both, i end up getting a o2 sensor code.

Has the motor/manifolds/exhaust been modified at all?

 

its a 350 block with 305 ho heads, all stock other than that. i cant remember the code number i will pull it again in a day or so.

ok turns out it was bad o2 ground for the computer. fixed and all good now.
