No start

So ive been trying to adjust my idle using the walk though. when i unplug the IAC after fully extending it, the engine fails to start. I then have to remove the IAC place the pindle all the way retracted and reset my ECM. the car will start but idles at 2k rpm. I have a 88 305 TPI, stock. any suggestions? thanks in advance.

Re: No start

this will happen sometimes, can you get it to start by open the throttle up?

Re: No start

when the pintle is extended and then the iac connector is disconnected during the setup procedure, you'll be relying on the throttle position screw only for air flow, so it may be really low. try tweaking the throttle position open a bit by having someone hold it open slightly while youre trying to start the car.

also, adjust the tps to the correct .56v setting. and once its running, check for vacuum leaks.
