Engine: 355, roller, Profilers, FIRST tpi
Transmission: 200r4
Axle/Gears: 3.42
TPI on my 350
I had a tpi unit along time ago and got rid of it. Now I've got the bug to be a bit different than all the other bellybutton 69 Camaros out there with a carb and a 14 inch air cleaner.
My engine is a 350 bored .030 over. Flat top pistons, four eyebrow reliefs, not sure if block was decked. Should be 9.75:1. 041 heads pocket ported. 1 5/8 dia full length headers. Cam is a Comp Extreme Energy 262. 218 & 224 @ .050 with .470 lift. First generation Edelbrock Performer manifold with 2200-2300 stall. 3.42 gears in a corp ten bolt rear.
I can get a nice TPI unit out of a 85 Vetter for $100. Car has always been set up for the street, would love around 425-450 tq at the flywheel. Can this be done with above TPI? What would need to be done to unit? Thanks for your replies.

I'd caution you about using the computer & harness from the 85 Vette. That particular year is a one-year specific computer that is very primitive and there aren't many people that tune them. The 85 Vette also ran a different fuel pressure (35lbs vs. 43 for everything else), and had the external MAF burnoff relay module.
If you're planning to run an aftermarket harness & ECU, then the 85 parts will be fine, but if you want a plug & play option, look for a TPI setup from an 86-92.

Yes, I understand torque is king on the street. My engine probably puts out over 400 ft lbs at the crank now, but at 5300 rpm. Could I expect the same, more, or less if I use that Vette tpi? I am thinking the TPI with my current setup would have a flat torque curve over 400 ft lbs from 1500 RPM to 5000 RPM. Am I off base in this thinking? Will ported and siamesed stock base, ported and siamesed runners , and ported plenum be up to the task?

Have you ever thought about a holley stealth ram intake manifold? They only run about $300 for the manifold.

My advice to you is to ditch the TPI manifold altogether. If I had a thirdgen again, that's what I would do. Get a Holley Stealth ram if you want to stick with Fuel injection. You want good advice? You just go it. Thank you
