Did I buy a defective throttle body?
just ordered a new holley throttle body. Installed and set idle. I have to push the throttle back down by hand. So if I snap the throttle and let go it will idle at 1,000. Then I go under the hood and push butterflyes closed. It should not feel sticky after new throttle body. The idle adjustment screw is backed off and out of the way.

Some of the aftermarket stuff binds or sticks like that. Take the throttle body off and check it for blades binding on the housing. Some very light sanding will fix it normally.

Take a look at the lever that's attached to your TPS, it could be rubbing on the side of your TB. What you're describing is exactly what happened to me, when I bought a new AS&M TB.
I took the TPS off, shaved a little off the lever.....and was good to go.
