Cold Start Issues
86 Camaro with an 89 350 with the TPI from the 86.
Has a cold start issue. Have to pump the gas pedal to get it to start, and rev the engine a handful of times or else it will stall out. Acts like a carbed car Give the car about a minute or 2 and it will idle fine.
Some additional info:
24 lbs Ford SVO , Jet Chip for an 87 Camaro.
Also, last night I had it stall on me twice leaving a parking lot after sitting for 4-5 hours.

Re: Cold Start Issues
Sounds like a issue with the 9th injector or cold start timer switch. On 89 tpi maf $6e programing they finally went away with the problematic 9th injector. All 8 injectors have added pw on cold start enrichment instead of relying on the added fuel of the ninth injector.Bye pumping the pedal you are adding more fuel with a pump shot.

Re: Cold Start Issues

When the ignition switch is turned to the crank position power is sent to the purple and white wire of the cold start timer switch and the ninth injector. The timer switch controls the ground side of the injector.
If you are wanting to go to the 89 programing send me a pm I can assist with the upgrade.

Re: Cold Start Issues
Alright, I will have to wait and test the cold start injector till later this week cause of work. But, I wonder if my problem is my ecm setup. I am piggybacking a Jet performace chip for an 87 Camaro (since that was the first year GM put 5.7 in the camaros) into the stock 86 chip. Couple that with a stock engine from an 89 camaro (minus the TPI setup) I wonder if that could cause issues.

Re: Cold Start Issues
The programing definition from $32 to $32B will not cause the issue. The piggyback just bypasses the eprom on the memcal but the ecm still uses the i/o buffer and netress. Unless the memcal was from a s10 not the correct application and cylinder select The piggyback use is fine.
