L-98 a but lazy
Hello all,
My 1987 L-98 Iroc has developed a bit of laziness. I had headers installed without the AIR . Now it seems that when I disconnect the battery and let the computer lose its memory it runs better for a day or so. Then after the computer relearns it is not as “edgy” if that makes senses. I feel it must have something to do with a sensor and the computer pulling out some power. It does have a Stage 1 TPIS chip. Any ideas? Also ever since the headers there is a bad fuel smell after shut down. Fuel pressures is good with key off but could it be a bad injector?

It does not have the "check engine light" on. So I didn't think any codes would be set. But I'll give it a shot.

Wonder if after the headers the o2 sensor is not getting enough heat to function proper? Some people install heated ones to fix that problem. You could jumper the A and B pins on the diagnostic port and as you're driving the check engine light with fluctuate rich with the light on and lean with it off. Should be equal time on and off with a warmed up good running car.
