tpi nitrous set up need gears ? or leave stock gears ?
Im new to this forum so I hope I posted this thread in the right place
my current set up- 1988 trans am gta 305 5 speed, slight head work, comp 495/495 lift camshaft kit, I didn't go crazy but while putting it back together I did a little bit of porting to my intake manifold and upper intake and runners. stock injectors, everything else stock. then I just had to put the bottle on it. a year later I put weld wheels and et streets on it. I took it to the track on one of the last test and tunes of the year and it was pretty freezing. I do not have a bottle heater so my nitrous pressure was a huge struggle. the bottle was full but it simply was too cold. I managed a 13.20 HOWEVER I had a 1.72 60 ft. with good nitrous pressure I am sure it has 12.90 in it. my underdrive pulley kit should be in tomorrow so once I get that on and figured out I want to do one more thing. gears ? or do I leave the gears alone and try to do something with the restrictive tpi intake system? Im worried that with nitrous my 1/4 mile times will not improve that much with gears. my third option is injectors. the car still has the stock 19 lb injectors in it. please give me some guidance I need to stay competitive

I would do a better exhaust headers cat back and call it a day. May be get a bottle heater or nano kit for the nitrous that is your best bet. I have an 86 auto on nitrous and only have 3.42's That is plenty of gear as far as I care to go.

The car has had a flowmaster on it since the second day I got it. I took the cat out and welded a pipe in. The other night I put a corsa 3 inch muffler on it But have yet to touch the stock manifolds. So do you think I should pull the smog junk off of it and put a set of headers on it ? If so do I change the torque arm so I can run long tubes and an x pipe or just throw shorty headers on it ?
