89 350 tpi code 12?

On Saturday I gave my "new" '89 IROC a good tune-up consisting of oil and filter, air filter, plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. Since then, my SES light has been on. The car is running good, a lot better than it did, so I'm not sure what is wrong. I jumped the proper diagnostic pins and got code 12 flashed to me. According to alldata and ATGO (Austinthirdgen board), there is no code 12 for a 350tpi. So...........what could be wrong? Nothing was left unplugged, and I tried to reset the code by leaving the battery negative unhooked for 5 min, but it still comes on. The only thing I can think of is that when I pulled the rotor, I did not mark where it was, but I eyeballed it since I had the new rotor in my hand and immediately replaced it. I know the wires are connected right, I labeled them on both ends and matched the new cap to the old cap (which was labeled before I unplugged anything).

Please HELP!!!!!!

Adam

Your timing isn't off, so you should rule that one out. Even if you could somehow have moved cam and thus the crank, it wouldn't be off much and you probably wouldn't get a code. Code 12 is what it should flash, three times I believe, before it gives you the actual code. You should try to check for the code again just to see. Was your SES light on before you did the tune up?

code 1 2 is just verifying that your ecm is functional, if im not mistaken. Not an actual trouble code

Code 12 is no DRP , this also will show three times when entering into diagnostic / field service mode koeo. If the mil is on constantly and you just get code 12s only sounds like you may have a bad ecm or ecm ground behind the drivers side cylinder head .

Okay, let me go ahead and put on my dunce cap. Following the advice here, I flashed the actual code, code 33 MAF. Well, let's open the hood and check it out......what's that connector hanging around under the intake hose? Oh look, the MAF came unplugged when I changed the air filter. Plugged it in and all better. At least it was something simple, right?
