Found a TPI for 600$

Should i jump on this if the guy still has it?

An unknown spec SBC out of a truck (see fan clutch) with a wiring harness that could need a lot of work to be correct in your car for 600! dollars.......no thanks. Unless you know for sure what the engine specs are (not just what the seller claims is in the engine) it's a lot of money for stuff that you may just end up having to change anyway. TPI stuff isn't that rare or expensive if you want to go that route. Avoid having to make more effort than necessary.

I guess im boned then lol, patience is key though, i learned that from having two past 3rd gens i mistreated, not this one though. 3rd times the charm for my new 3rd gen.

I would just keep your TBI setup and drop a 350 Vortec under it.

dont do that if you want there is a guy that lives on the other side of town as me that parts out 3rd and 4th gens and i was there today and he has 22tpi setups and proably sell you one alot cheaper shipped pm me and ill give you his # (going over to his house is like going to 3rd gen heaven)

What would be the pros and cons on doing going with this option? sorry im a super noob, just starting my interest in these cars again since im a little older and have more funds available than i did a couple years ago with my past two 3rd gens.

Pros- Easy to install. More displacement. WAY better heads. Easy to make more power later. Fuel pump swap NOT required

Cons- New intake manifold required. Computer needs a remap to make most of the new engine. TBI computer kind of a pain to remap. But thats easily fixed too http://www.dynamicefi.com/
