what can make a tpi engine get too much fuel
what can make a tpi engine get too much fuel
hi what can make a 5.7 tpi engine run too rich and get too much fuel, all injectors ohm ok, ive had a couple of suggestions that it might be a 02 sensor or a coolent temp sensor, which i will try just wondered if anyone else had any suggestions before i start ordering some parts, also am i right in thinking the coolent temp sensor is under the throttle body with a yellow and black wire

virtually EVERYTHING can make them a pain in the ***. trust me on that.but yes things like exhaust leaks on the motor,CTS values,o2 sensors ,leaking injectors, the list would reach from me to you easily.start with the mechanical first. and then if you have any sanity and money left. the sensors having to do with fuel delivery would be your next trip thru hell. buy a factory service manual. they are absolutely your first ,best investment

Would be the most obvious starting point as it will identify if any of the sensors that control fueling ( or their circuits ) are faulty.
A bad CTS for example showing the engine as always cold would give a permanent rich condition

im finding that the two relays that run the MAF can be trouble, when they go there is no codes. but it will run so rich that it will be un drivable.in fact what with them being made in china I keep several in the back of the car .they die often,at least in my case
