Driver side runner gasket on wrong side?

Take a look at this pic. This is a aftermarket intake manifold. T pick is the driverside of the intake and The runner does not have the emission tube on that side. So buy having the gasket like this will not pose a Problem?? I thought Driver side tube in intake is for csi on early years.

That won't ever run right like that. Makes for a large vacuum leak. The first time I started up my motor back when I had that style TPI it had to be held at like 2500rpm and feather the throttle to keep it running. Found out I had accidently switched those around from driver to passenger.

Re: Driver side runner gasket on wrong side?

this is so puzzling to me because the driver side runner itself does not have a port for the intake like shown in the pic. Could i just trim this gasket so that port is not blocked on the intake? What is the purpose of the intake hole on the driverside. Or i guess i could ordor another set of runners gaskets. These gasmets are not cheap.

Re: Driver side runner gasket on wrong side?

Those appear to be the stock gaskets or are they not? My gaskets for my old stock intake were around $20 bucks if I remember right. If they arent maybe stock could be enlarged to fit? What aftermarket intake do you have?

The bottom hole goes to the exhaust crossover. The top goes into the intake.

This is an accel intake and the gaskets are accel gaskets which they don't make them anymore. the passenger side seems to have went in fine n match up fine with the egr port on that side.

I suspect you have 2 pass side gaskets ; the one you show look more like the port for the EGR on pass side

Re: Driver side runner gasket on wrong side?

so I found my old slp gaskets in my garage. I'm just going to use the one for the driver side as it matches perfect. Weird how it did not come with the right gasket from accel'

Could've just been a mistake when packing it. I've heard of weirder things. Let us know how it does once you get the right gasket installed!

I had a gasket on my FIRST intake get twisted so it wasn't sealing. Went to break in the cam. Brought it to 2500rpms or so and the headers got wayyyy cherry red. Caught several plug wires on fire. Even though a/f was fine on my wide band. Wouldn't idle at all.
