help identifying a sensor
Hi all,
Im putting my 5.7 together, pretty much with all new parts but it looks like ive missed one.
Im not sure what sensor i need for the intake manifold where the red arrow is pointing too. the sensor next to it is new, i think that one is the engine temp sender to goes to the ECU, but ive got no idea what should be in the other one

Re: help identifying a sensor
The other one would be the Cold Start switch. Has a connector on it that looks like a fuel injector connector. If you've eliminated the cold start, you won't need it.

Re: help identifying a sensor
ha ha ! a welcomed question mate, i just tell it how it is....
I just love the car so i put my heart and soul into it. ive wanted KITT since i was a little kid, and even before i knew what a Pontiac Firebird was ! when i got the car i knew nothing about them, but over the years through the will to learn ive tackled 90% of the jobs on my own and i just buy new parts as and when i can afford them.
Its taken me 10 years to get this far, as im not happy just sticking some knight rider parts on the car and having a ropey trans am underneath, so im restoring the car while making it a replica too, so its pretty time consuming.
Ive been saving lots of money on petrol though as its been sat in the garage since October when i pulled the 5.0 engine !
And yeah i got most of my parts from rockauto, even with the postage its usually cheaper than getting the parts from the UK stockists
