TPI running rich
ok TPI 90+ SD Setup, 42lb injectors, fully ported supercharged, all the sudden car is running really rich 12.5 ish idling, it does not feel right almost like it's shaking more than usual at idle.
i run open loop, it's not the tune or wb o2, not the afpr (it's not leaking to vacuum), all 8 injectors ohm out okay, all 8 spark plugs are fouled black equally, fuel pressure is okay and does not bleed down.
i put a spark tester on all plugs and they look fine...
GO.

Did it lean out when you run open loop? And what if the WBO2 is malfunctioning?
However I will say that if the WBO2 fails it will usually give false leans. Which will make the motor run rich in CL.
This is always a catch 22... What part to buy first.
I would make 100% sure it is not the FPR. Is it leaking down after key on prime?
This will also rule out the injectors.
If all of that is good, then I would have to point my finger to the WBO2.
Then the tune.
What about your map? Do you have a scantool? can you look at your map signal?
I would think if your map was bad it could cause more drive ability symptoms.
What if your IAC is failing and not letting in enough air at idle?
Thats my
FWIW

Re: TPI running rich
the wideband o2 is there just for monitoring the mixture it has no effect on the ecm, the tune has been working for years with the correct fuel mixture, all the sudden it's rich out the pipes enough to smoke and make your eyes water.
the map looks okay, no error codes in tunerpro.
it holds fuel pressure fine.
i took the distributor apart and the pickup coil looks terrible i thought they usually just die and won't give a signal to start spark, gonna rebuild it and see.

If it is not connected to the ECM do you have a narrow band? or Did you completely disable closed loop?
I agree about the Distributor, Typically the pickup or the module fails.
I wonder if the Idle Air Control Valve is not pulling its weight. Sticking and not opening enough. If you bring the rpms up to say 1200 rpm does it help the rich condition?

Re: TPI running rich
closed loop is completely disabled, it's been this way since i tuned it and i've never had this rich issue, the afr seems to get better at higher rpm's i'm going to checkout the iac, i unplugged it while it was running and there was no change in engine noise
