I noticed the other Day my ECM on my TPI setup is actually hot to the touch. I never noticed this before my Engine rebuild. Has anyone ever noticed their ECM running hot, or do I have something wrong with mine that I should swap in a new one?

I have it in my 1955 Chevy and car was ran for years till I did an Engine overhaul and bumped up the HP a ummm Little... Now it seams ECM seams hot.

The ECM is from an 89 Camaro.

 

They do run hot, electronics do produce heat. With it being a retro-fit, be sure that the case is electrically isolated from the chassis. It is already grounded via the EFI harness, grounding the case to the chassis is bad.

Should also have some vibration isolation for reliability.

Yeah I used the factory mounting bracket, I only noticed because I had it out laying on the carpet in the vehicle and grabbed it to check the connections because my Scanner lost communication with the ECM and couldn't find it. I figured that had something to do with the heat it was producing.
