cam selection

I've got a gem of an 88 formula 350. She's getting a heart transplant in a few weeks and with the lack of parts, I'm torn on the cam. I've got a 355 with speed pro flat top pistons, 186 heads with 1.94,1.5 stainless valves, ported and polished, hardened seats and upgraded springs
The thing is, i haven't got an upgraded torque convertor or tpi setup. Since the motor need to go in asap "sick rod knock"
I may have to hold out on the aforementioned parts for the moment.
I guess without those upgrades, I'm looking for a cam 1500-5500 rpms. Going to be hydraulic flat tappet. Would like to get around 400 ft lbs of torque, ideas?

Re: cam selection

I'm biased that being said comp cams xe268h-10 comes to mind if you had converter. Without it you might like the xe262h-10 better going to have more low end. Xe262h-14 would work too. Wouldn't have that choppy idle tho.

Re: cam selection

Convertor is not so much the issue, i can grab one. ..i just need something that will work "at least for now" well with the stock tpi and get me decent torque numbers after all is said and done.

Re: cam selection

Ahh didn't know you were going to run it with a computer in that case I'd try out the 260xfih-13 from com . Should be in the rpm range you want.
