TPI upper plenum question MAP vs MAF
TPI upper plenum question MAP vs MAF
I have a upper plenum from a MAF 1990 corvette, that Im going to install to a 1991 MAP engine.
The 1990 plenum dont have the extra vacuume output from the plenum that goes to the MAP censor.
Is it "ok" to just use a T-connection from, lets say the FPR vaccume hose , and connect a extra vaccume hose to the MAP censor?
O do I need to drill a new hole in the plenum and put in a vaccume connector?
Thanks

Re: TPI upper plenum question MAP vs MAF
A '90 Corvette is a MAP set up, so the plenum is likely from a different year.
You can T for the MAP signal, but it is best not to do this.
The MAP sensor should have it's own vacuum (pressure) line to the plenum. For best response use a short section of that small diameter hard plastic line. This is the stuff that GM uses is various places.
