20A fuse & MAF problem (Simple?)

Hi guys,
I have done quite a bit of reading here and looking at my car and came up with the following (in a short fluffy version)...

Me n the girl went to go to the store.. started and ran for a few seconds shut off... Wouldnt restart...
No fuel pump prime..
(Thanks to this forum saving me time and money) Went straight to the car and Checked 20A inline fuse and MAF power/MAF Burnoff/Fuel pump relays Fuse at battery was blown
Threw a new one in... started right up and died right back..( It pops the fuse everytime I turn the key on to the ON position. )

So I found out that inline 20A fuse runs power to the MAF and Fuel system so I started unlpluging everything and plugging everything back in one at a time.

Now everything pluged back in EXCEPT the MAF (connector that plugs into the sensor itself.) It is no longer poping the 20A fuse. Went for a drive and everything seemed to be
running just fine. check engine light is now on and maybe idling a lil low but runs great WAO.

With all that being said does it sound like bad MAF? can a MAF short out? If it can would it be poping this fuse?

I have looked at just about all the wiring that i can see under the hood and do not see any burnt areas or bad relay or sensor plugs.

The wiring in this car looks to be untouched from the factory. 78,000 original miles and very nice car..

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: 20A fuse & MAF problem (Simple?)

Well if anyone runs across the same problem it must have been a short in the MAF.
I plugged one up to it and it did not blow the fuse and started... Check engine light is still on but may go off and stay off after I reset...
