Best cam for LB9 305 TPI.

Hey guys I am about to get a chip programmed with the guys over at Custom Chip Inc and was wondering what cam that you had the best luck with for your TPI system. I have a 1992 LB9 305 TPI, 5 speed, with MAP. I have heard the Crane 2032 is good. Let me know what worked for you.
Thanks guys.

I don't have an LB9, but I've heard excellent things about the 2032 in those engines. Maybe not the best if you intend to go bat **** with the car later, but then again, if you do you probably won't be using the 305. 2032 should be great for your mild application, and cheap to boot.

The guys over at Custom Chip Inc recomended Comp Cams 12-402-4 Hydraulic Flat Tappet cam.
Specs;

I am seriously considering this cam but would have to upgrade to flat tappet lifters to.
Let me know what you think.

Re: Best cam for LB9 305 TPI.

On a 92 engine? That should be a roller cam. Do not use a flat tappet cam in that. Big step back for no good reason. If I were sticking to a 305 and getting a comp cam, I'd use a 8-500-8. I don't believe in such thing as a "best cam". Just good/great cam for the right application and use. So there are many cams that will suit your engine.

Re: Best cam for LB9 305 TPI.

I run a ZZ4 cam in my 89. 208 221 474 501 112

I had to install Comp Cam screw in studs and Comp Cams bee hive springs.
