Interchanged Fuel Injectors

I just bought Bosch 24# Injectors made for Ford Motorsport. They're supposed to be interchangeable with the Chevy TPI injectors. First thing I noticed is that they are really skinny by comparison, the second was that they don't have provisions for retainer clips and the third is that their made of plastic. Will these things really work with a high pressure TPI system, or will they leak like a sieve!! What am I supposed to do, just shove them into my fuel rail without a retainer clip and hope they stay in? (DAMN FORDS!)

I've been running mine that way for 1 1/2 years and haven't had a problem yet.

Really skinny? Are you sure those are the right injectors? They should be the same diameter... sounds like you may have a set of 4.6 injectors in your hands, and I dont think those will work.

Skinny Boschs Injectors

Yeah, they're kinda skinny, they look just like the new Corvette LS1 injectors. Any thoughts? Their part # is 280-155-710.

On the box mine came in: Part # M-9593-A302 24# Injector Kit

Doesn't list individual part #.

Got to agree with MadMax.

Skinny Bochs

Well, the part # I'm getting is off of the injectors themselves. Their listed to be for the Ford 5.4, 5.0 AND 4.6. Their supposed to be a brand new design for 2002. I don't know. They fit into my fuel rail and the intake manifold opening.

I got them from the guy who runs "www.fiveomotorsport.com". He claims he's been selling them to TPI guys with no problems. I looked all over the net trying to find a web page that lists BOSCH injector part numbers and I couldn't find this one, only older ones. So if anyone knows about a site that lists BOSCH part numbers I'd appreciate it. Again, they're yellow/orange and they look just like the new LS1 injectors; kinda skinny, but the same length as the TPI injectors.

OK, I'd try em and see if they work (I think they probably will). I just looked at one of mine : Part #280-150-947 Black body with blue top.

I just measured them since my last post and they are approximately .25" longer than the stock injectors. That is, the stock injectors are 2 inches and 3/4 or 7 cm and these are like almost 3 inches; approx 7.5 cm. I don't know if this even matters.

it prolly will, since when you torque down the bolts for the fuel rails you are going to crush the seals between the manifold and the injector, U can just make sure not to torque it too tight but U had to do it twice on my tlaon cuz I ****ed up the first time, so I suggest doing it right the first time

In case anyone cares, I think these damned injectors will work. Although they are .25" longer than stock, they go deeper into the manifold. And from what I understand, the LS1 injectors will work with the L98 TPI. (I HOPE!)
