89 Camaro

Just bought a 89 Camaro a few days ago. The vin says I have an L03 but I have a TPI. How can I find out what motor is really in it and where to look?

Main problem is the maf is unplugged and it will crank over and run. With the maf plugged in she will crank and turn about 5 time but stumble and die.

Thanks for your help.

Re: 89 Camaro

Thought they went to speed/density in 89??

What the vin says, is what the car came with stock. You can check block casting numbers, if you can see them.... should be on the bellhousing part of the block, drivers side.

Re: 89 Camaro

I think it was 90 hey went to speed density. I'll post up some photos if the engine. Think I may get a wiring harness to make sure everything is hooked up or just start making my own
