Re: Fuel tank baffles

I was glad to see everything clean and intact. Just purchased this one in May and had to replace the sending unit (did the fuel pump also). The vehicle has an extremely clean undercarriage.

Re: Fuel tank baffles

May I ask, that looks like a new tank. What brand is it? I am guessing the filler neck lined up correctly? I purchased a spectra I believe for my 89 RS and the filler neck is way off.

Thanks in advance.

It's an original 89ish to 92 GM tank.

You can bend the necks a little to get them into position.

Re: Fuel tank baffles

Original tank, as far as I can tell. I did add some 2-part epoxy around the filler neck to tank joint, whether that was right or wrong?

Re: Fuel tank baffles

Its best to just take them to an old radiator shop and have it re-silver soldered.

Re: Fuel tank baffles

My '90 had a tank like that (just as clean inside) I pulled it and sold it to someone who had a tank that was all rusted out inside. Put the money towards a 99-02 style tank. It uses a fuel bucket. It works way better than the baffled tank.

You can use regular lead solder, or indium based
