ZZ9 Cam... 123k miles.. ??

Were looking into putting a few mods on the GTA. Bolt ons, headers, exhaust. Possibly that LT1 intake deal, but maybe just sticking w/ runners and a bigger tb.

Anway. Would it be bad to put a ZZ9 in a stock bottom end w/ 123k miles? The car's been treated extremly well from what we can tell.

The car needs to be reliable, and from what Ive heard a ZZ9 will not loap hard. But it will give good performance wise and keep reliability/mpg pretty well.

Thanks

I don't know the specs on the cam, but I'd say it's alright to do. I've seen many people do the same successfully. Myself for one.

the zz-9 is just a little smaller than the hotcam. If you are wanting to mod out the engine perform a compression check to make shure that all the cylinders are ok. Only then would I mod the engine. Your first step should always be to run a compression check to see if the engine is even worth putting money into. It is cheep insurance that you arn't kicking a dead horse.

Not gonna do more than boltons and/or intake and cam

Probably do a compression check to make sure like you said.

Thanks for the input. Anyone else feel free to reply too
