Timing question

So I took my 89 350 tpi to get the engine rebuilt and I decided to install a bigger camshaft. When I went to pick up the car it was running rough, it would turn off at light or when i put it in gear. I had a mechanic look at it and he realized that the distributor was loose and the timing was off. He tightened it and put the timing to stock set up but now when I turn it on it idles at like 2100 rpm and when I shift it to drive it idles at 1300. Will I have to adjust the timing a bit because of the bigger cam? Thanks

Re: Timing question

You might try 6-8 with the est disconnected. You can always have it advanced more with a custom tune for the cam.
