More VSS for BlazinOR

No. You'll end up just leaving the P/N switch permanently grounded and it will still run in limp home. Any more questions?

In my never ending quest for more power, I am actually listening (with my open mind) and going to try a VSS.........ordered it Thursday. Figure I have nothing to lose but the $70 it cost me, if it doesn't do jack for me I will at least know it did or didn't. Which is more than I can say for the closed-minded group that preach 'gotta have VSS' when they don't know the facts.
I'm glad you know the facts based on your friends resume. I have seen plenty of people with "qualifications" (like "GM mechanic") who didn't know what they were talking about on stock GM vehicles. Instead of pulling your friends resume out of your pocket all the time, why don't you just post information based on what you know.

I repeat this once again - the engine builder friend of mine is a former GM mechanic.
<yawn>

He left that job to pursue building race motors/race cars and got a city job that he loves. So his reputation locally is revered - and has done 130+ conversions to TPI from carbed cars/trucks - none with in tank pumps or VSS. Too bad you couldn't get a ride in his Jag coupe with the 434 ci TPI motor.............make you crap your pants. And no, it doesn't have VSS, EGR, VATS, or an intank pump.
Great. Every single one of the TPI & LT1 swaps a friend of mine has done have had VSS. All the LT1's have had VATs. Most have had in-tank pumps. So what? Have you run both scenarios back to back? No. You're just saying "it works." Guess what? It would work better in other ways.

This board, like CK5, is for learning. I admit I have an open mind and to illustrate it am putting in the VSS..........now, how about you quit mocking someone who doesn't follow the 'norm' like a sheep and can prove what I have kicks tail.
I never said your truck didn't kick tail. I just said there are better ways of doing things than how you do them. Does that make yours inferior? Entirely possible. Does that mean it's 100hp diff? No. When it is obscenely easy to include a VSS (like on 81-up GM vehicles with a 2 pulse VSS right there for you) it's dumb to not include it. In the case of things like airdeanos customers who want simplicity, less wiring, and care more about looks than mpg, then non VSS non EGR setups make sense.

Just because the factory put VSS in doesn't necessarily mean it is an absolute requirement
I can make my Q-jets run w/out secondaries on other cars. And I can also say with some confidence that GM doesn't put things on cars unless there's a need. Like VSS.

If we hot rodders relied on the factory settings we wouldn't be hot rodders, now would we?
Oh by *** I did not make any stakes against modifications, so you are on shakier ground than Bin Laden, fool. Check my sig. I have more f-body parts on a Monte than you have VSS pulses.
