Anyone ever see this happen?

92 305TPI. Will start and run then stall after about 30 seconds. Unhook the alternator and it will stay running, and soon as I plug it back in.......dead.

AC Delco alternator about 3-4 years old. Just ordered a Powermaster 140Amp.

What happens with system voltage when you plug it in?

Not sure, I didn't test. Good suggestion tho. Got a Powermaster 140amp, but I'll have to take a few readings before I swap them.

Re: Anyone ever see this happen?

Powermaster is garbage. Cancel the order. Had two fail - one about 3 months in, and the other about 7 months in. Complete junk. I have disassembled their products a couple times now and the manufacturing quality is horrible.

I agree with GD.

in fact I'd actually use the opportunity to upgrade to an AD244 alternator. Bad *** alternator and factory GM...

Do a search on AD244....theres a few how-to threads.

Agree with GD and ULTM. Most alternators from the big box stores are junk. Use OEM Delco or the AD244!
