I have a 1989 Pontiac Firebird with the TPI I am having an issue were when I 1st started the idle gradually climbs to 2000 rpm and will sit there and then when I let go the clutch shall just accelerate on her own but she will set their I believe until she warms up she just started this may be 3 days ago and I'm having an issue trying to figure out what is wrong also I have a broader body issue where the screw that holds the TPS on one of them has broke from the previous owner and I had to use a zip tie to kind of adjust the TPS with anybody might have a spare throttle body they can help me out with or something please it would help me out a lot

 

1989 TPI. Does that have the straight pull throttle cable or the later style with the wrap around cable? I have three spare throttle bodies of the early style, one polished. I will PM you some pics.
