Help: 91 Gta possible bad Ecm? Not running right
Hello, need some help with my 91 GTA Tpi 350 i was pulling it out Sunday morning for cars and coffee it started normal and was idling normal outside warming up and i got out to close my garage when i hear the fan loudly click on and it start to run very rough. I jump in to limp it into the garage and shut it off also the engine light came on (never came on before), it was stumbling bad pulling in.
I go to jump the connector to pull codes and the car didn’t even flash code 12 just a solid engine light BUT the electric fans were on with the key on RUN and it never did that obviously.
Ive had the car for almost a decade and never had a problem this bad. The car is all original and unmolested to rule out any whacked out wires

Sounds like a bad ecm, if you tap on the ecm case does this change how it runs ?
If you need a ecm let me know I have a few for sale .

I’ll definitely try that after work today see what happens. How much do you want for your Ecm’s? Thanks for the reply too

Sounds good, I’ll report back how the tap test goes. Are the Ecms tested or known to work?

They are untested but if it’s bad I’ll refund you. The fact the fan is running sounds like it’s bad.

Cool I appreciate that. Yeah I figured the fan running was a give away, plus not flashing any codes with the engine light on

So I tried to tap on it while the car was running and there was no change, i reset the battery to see if that would help it flash any codes and still nothing and not even a code 12, definitely a bad misfire to it and smell the sloppy running
