New 91 GTA NEW TO SPEED DENSITY.
What's up guys...So I picked up a 91 gta for 1700 bucks. I'm currently having issues with it. Under throttle it bogs out... skips...feels like it wants to open up but it doesnt....it dies randomly and the idles high then low....I started with wires and plugs....still same....I started to try to time it by moving the distributor it made it worse session light came on...I put it back where it was and it turned off....the po said the motor was rebuilt 20k ago....any suggestions would be awesome Thanks....

I need to hook the paper clip up and check but the ses light has not kicked on our anything like that. Only time it kicked on was when I advanced timing and it started to run real lean then it went on. I put it back where it was marked and it went away.

With no codes I'd start at the basics. Did you check your plugs? Did you check your fuel pressure?

When you did the plugs and wires did you also change out the cap and rotor? I would also look at the throttle position sensor and the idle air control valve on the throttle body.

Yes cap and rotor the tps is next this one is not adjustable like in my 87 how do I test it? And where is the IAC that's on the throttle body correct it's been awhile since I worked on a tpi motor. Ha ha hopefully I can get her running good. I also noticed it always takes at least 3 cranks to start in going to look at fuel pressure tomorrow

The IACV should be right underneath the TPS but I'm not sure if the SD motors used an IACV. I have an 87 with MAF so I'm not 100% certain. It's been a really long time since I've looked over the intake stuff on an SD motor.
Research on how to test the TPS, should be able to use a volt meter. I would also check your fuel pressure and make sure you don't have a bad FPR and maybe OHM your injectors to make sure they're still in good working order.
