You might want to datalog with tuner pro rt $1f
or better yet upgrade to the 1227165 ecm. If you do the ecm conversion I can assist with tuning.

Ok so this is all new to me. You recommend getting new ecm? Then use a tuner to adjust for cam? Am I following? Thanks

here is a guide to repining . You can source a 1227265 ecm on eBay, classifieds ad here or RockAuto.com
you need one for a 86-89 tpi . If you choose to go this route contact me for a starter chip.
i also rent the aldl cable to datalog with to refine your tune.
tpichips.com might do prom reprogramming for 85 but it’s a slow baud ecm.

Datalogging will show fuel trims as well as a wideband o2 gauge.
if your loading up at idle this can be corrected. If the cam is to large you might not to able to get a smoother idle. The cheapest way to see what’s going on is a wb gauge.
