Im kinda new to this so I apologize in advance for any mistakes. REcently converted from A4 to M5 and need a prom or ECM to fix minor idle issues. Thanks in advance!

The 85 pti ecm 1226870 is the worst ecm for tpi. You might consider doing the 1227165 swap is is a much better ecm. If your wanting a custom eprom for your 870 lmk, but it will be worth the money to goto a 165 ecm.

Thanks for the info. Ive considered this but I just want the car to idle properly and not run so rich, but Im getting off topic in the wrong forum so I better stop there lol.

 

there was never a option or broadcast code for tpi 305 manual transmission until 87 with the 1227165 ecm. If you are running ruch you might want too figure out that issue, cts, leaking injectors leaking fpr ect..

 

Pretty sure that I've still got an 85 305 TPI ECM...... Think I've still got the 350 version too. I know that both were from automatics. If your still looking, send me a PM for the details.

 

If your only haveing a idle problem.You dont need a ecm.Throttle Position Sensor is the problem.Most likly.If that is bad or has moved a bit.will cause that problem

 

Thanks for all the info and advice everyone. I believe ive found the problem. the previous owner installed a fuel pump and butchered the floor above the tank, along with the sending unit and lines (which were leaking and improperly connected). Replaced all with new parts and it made a world of difference! Thanks again to everyone!!
