Lots of discussion on these. If you get it tuned right, the First should be a good match to a 383.

Oh YOU'RE getting the FIRST. I know that shop

If you're getting the Terminator X, are you also getting a 24x conversion?

Re: First performance Intake.

24x would be a Gen III crank reluctor count. Yeah the Holley HP makes more sense since it will run almost any engine if configured correctly. The HP will run a TPI setup without any special parts. The 24x system that the Terminator needs would require a bunch of special parts to work.

Re: First performance Intake.

I'm running the First intake with a Holley HP on a new Chevy 350 crate motor. Haven't been able to drive it yet but it's running very well. Still have a lot to learn in the Holley software to fine tune everything.

Re: First performance Intake.

I installed my First TPI back in 2012 and have been happy with it. Ken is good to work with!
I did look at the Holly system at the time but settled on the EBL P4 ECM as it seemed to be a better fit with what I wanted to do.
Good luck with your project!

I don't have a good photo of the passenger side but my valve cover clearance issues were because of the pollution equipment.
Brodix IK200 Heads, Comp 280XFI - 113LSA Cam, Hooker Headers with A.I.R. tubes (the county I live in Texas still required emission testing when I moved here). Passed the "sniffer test" easily much to my surprise.
Keep in mind - my build is a "Saturday night cruiser" and not a race car.

Re: First performance Intake.

Subscribing to this thread. Do you need the Holley to manage the 383 and FIRST intake?

I just picked up a 91' all original. I'm going to immediately take the stock motor out and want to replace it with a high performance daily driver. I was looking at motors and intakes and some ideas. I want a four bolt main block as I had some trouble with my 87' IROC Z28 and lost a rod bearing.

No you dont need a holley system to run this intake ..some people use a chip or EBL but i wanted something better so we can grow down the line...we are going to be supercharging it so i would rather have a system that can tune anything...its a big investment up front but i think worth it...

Killer torque at low RPM on 383. Great for street. I love it since most of my driving is on public street. Awesome throttle response and instant torque. Really wakes up at 2500 rpm.

I got a crate engine from GM Performance. I'm no builder
Cam was withinh specs to match the First intake. I have the 835cfm model. Max duration for that intake was 224
https://www.chevroletperformancestor...e/sp383-deluxe

No Dyno yet. That's next when I get a chance. Needs tuning at WOT for SA and AFR for max power. We are on lockdown here!!!!
It's my own tune using hundreds of hours of testing on my old 305. It's starting fine, cruising great, idling great. All I need now it's dial in the WOT for max power

Re: First performance Intake.

since it will be a Friday in NJ, I want to beat some of the afternoon traffic. I will probably leave my house (Roxbury NJ) around 1, so I can get down there around 3:00-3:30 and find a place to eat.
