'86 L98 Vette Heads (specs?)
hi, i am about to purchase a set of vette heads that were on an 86 tpi vette engine for my 355 build up. i was wondering what the specs were on these heads and what size combustion chambers they have. i was told they are 76 cc. is this correct?thanks. also, any links to info like this would greatly be appreciated.

Early 86 had iron heads and 9:1 compression. Late 86 had aluminum heads and 9.5:1 compression. That sounds like the iron heads. I think all the iron heads were the same from 82 to the early 86 Corvettes.
If they came off an 86 and they are the alumminum heads then are 58cc they have 1.94 intake and 1.50 exhaust valves. that is the same head I used before I whent to the vortec I also Have a 86 vet pace car with those heads.

Ya if its an iron head but the vet alumminam head is 58cc gives the vet more compretion not a lot more flow thats ware the power diffrence comes from if you polish them they end up around 60 61 cc with the aluminam heads you can runn the high compretoin with a lower octane fuil then the iron heads with out spark nock.
