Fuel pressure regulator vacuum leaking gas.
Fuel pressure regulator vacuum leaking gas.
Ok guys so this has been an issue with my car for a while now. Car has hard start, need to floor accelerator to start. Now car dies out while in gear. Also white smoke from tail pipes that smell like pure gasoline. So I think I found the issue, fuel pressure regulator is leaking gas from vacuum line. I’m just curious will bad injectors cause the fuel pressure regulator to go bad. Or do you think this could be my main culprit?

Injectors have no effect. The regulator diaphragm is shot.

With 156k on the clock I wouldn't bother swapping out the injectors(unless they are delphis). The fuel pressure regulator leaking is a common issue. Swap it out and be done.

Yeah that’s what I had figured. I don’t want to put too much money into the engine. Because I do plan swapping it in the next couple of years. But will do the regulator this week. I’m actually excited to fix it. The car has been running like crap for quite some time. And could never pinpoint it, until I registered on this site. And everyone has been really helpful.
