HEI is a marketing acronym for High Energy Ignition. You can't install a marketing acronym AFAIK.

What *exactly* are you trying to do?

Yeah I know what it stands for but thanks... Does anyone run an HEI distributor and coil on their TPI 3rd Gen. I'm sorry in the title I abbreviated as I figured it would be easily translated and figured out. Should I have spelled out HEI in the second sentence on this post? Maybe?

I think you fail to understand - TPI already has HEI. That's just GM's marketing term for their ignition systems.

Regardless, it is still HEI. HEI is just GM marketing speak for all of their electronic distributors. Small cap or large cap. Doesn't matter. Every distributor after they stopped using points and condensers are HEI by definition if they came on a GM engine.
