Which runners and TB with Vortec Base, Fastburn Heads, and LT4 HOT cam????
I am going to have this setup:
-Larger throttle body
-Ported stock plenum
-Larger runners
-Vortec TPI base
-GM Fastburn Heads
-LT4 HOT cam
-24# injectors
-Self-burned PROM
I need a recommendation for the larger throttle body (should I go 52mm or 58mm?) and the runners (Edelbrock or SLP Siamesed?). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, do you think this can produce more than 400 HP at the flywheel? Thanks.

Ummm...you will never get all the power out of that head cam setup from TPI....I am a TPI supporter but that his just too much....I say put a SR on top of that setup and be proud to beat the hell out of everything and anything. I am serious about this....that is what I would do..or well what i was gonna do if i decided to ditch my 305 TPI.
I used the slp runners port mached every thing ported the runners down abought an in. in to the runners Im using a 52mm TB. other then that we have the same set up had my wiring harness catch on fire so I never had a chance to get it on a dyno.
I just recently got my car back on the road, and tried both the 52 and the 58 at the track. My 1/4 times were consistently at least .1 better with the 58 over the 52. The only runners that I have tried with my new setup are the AS&M (my 383 looks bone stock), but I have an old set of SLP cast runners that I might extrude hone and try out in a few months.
I ran the SLPs on my 350 for 3 years(not quite as heavily modded as yours will be), and they ran great. I think that they will give you a few hundred extra rpm on the top end. I would expect them to run good on your combo (although I have read many mixed comments about the SLPs on this forum).

Mike, I would think you'd be running a half second or so faster. How much port work was done to your heads? People are in the low 12s with a plain 350. Was this on slicks or radials? Judging by your 60' time it would seem like slicks but I don't know. What was the weather like on that run? Thanks for the reply.
The car ran varry strong I have a 86 vett with a miled build up on it three angle valve job 2040 comp cam and tci 2400 TC and 3:73 gears and it walked away from it with no problems. I would say it is a low 13 mabe high 12 car if I ever get a chance to tune it a liitle more Im changing to DFI and Im hoping to see 12 This sumer.
Hey CamaroX84,
I wish I was running a 1/2 second faster!! I've only got 14 passes on the car (and only about 2000 miles on the motor). I'm still dialing in the chip and the suspension. However, I just don't expect this car to run much better than about 12.4s@ 110 (but I guess that you never know). I personally have never seen a TPI stroker run much better than that, plus this engine is not really a "big horsepower" motor (probably 400 ish at the flywheel). I might run a little better as I become more familair with the car. I hope to do a dyno run in a month or so. I haven't weighed the car yet, but it's a fully loaded t-top car with electric everything (even power antenna), so I'm sure it's "hefty", which doesn't help my times any.
The only port work on the heads was a moderate bowl blending (pocket porting), and a competition valve job. I'm running 255 50 16 BFG drag radials, and they are hooking pretty good right now.
The weather for my last set of runs was about 45 degrees, and abotu 40 % humidity - pretty good conditions.
