Modified 305 with 350 bin & Injector Size
Modified 305 with 350 bin & Injector Size
Hey guys.
I'm planning on beefing up my 305 tpi in my Formula. Should happen at the end of this year or in the beginning of next year.
Question:
I want to run my 305 with a 350 bin file to start with. Question here is should I do that? Should I then pick the 22lb injectors (cause it's programmed in 350 bin) instead of 24lb injectors as first planned? What bin should I use?
Estimated horsepower should be 300hp at the crank at least. The engine will have the SLP 51002 roller cam . 512"I. 520"E 206/212 duration at. 050 and 112 lsa all that with 1.6 roller rockers. Also Trickflow 305 175cc heads. For emissions it will stay with the ported exhaust manifolds, good flowing 3" exhaust and cold air intake and some ported tpi intake work.
The intention behind the stock 350 bin is I want (or better need) to run egr. I think the 350 stock bin is good for the more breathing capability and as a good tuning starting point like injector constant and spark timing with aluminum heads.
What do you guys think?
Greetings,
Christian

305 sa and injector constant and offsets then adjust ve might be a better approach.
not understanding the 350 breathing comment ?

Re: Modified 305 with 350 bin & Injector Size
Sorry, let me clarify that a bit more. Since my system is MAF, its somewhat clear the modified 305 will "breath" more cause its new heads and cam.
To adress that I thought about using the 350 as a start up bin with the MAF tables for example instead of heavily modify my maf table and ve tables and so on.
I can do that, have AFR gauge installed and the moates stuff at home. But maybe the 350 stock bin also works pretty fine...? Asked about some experience of this.

Sorry was under the impression this was sd, no ve but two sets of maf tables.
dont think a 350 tables will be closer to what your needing but there is arapwb bin on this site so you can incorporate a wb signal into d8 of the 165.

Re: Modified 305 with 350 bin & Injector Size
The MAF tables and adders are the main places to focus. The timing tables for the 305 would probably be substantially different from those for a 350. I've actually gone the other way, using a 305 TPI on a 350, right down to the 19 lb. injectors. Setting the injector constant and factoring that for a higher regulated fuel pressure (ended up being closer to 20½ lb/hr) and alteration of enrichment and timing can make it run reasonably well. I expect the same could be done in reverse.

Cam seems kind of mild to me, you don't think maybe a lil more cam is in order?
