I have one in my GTA, it came with my old car so I figured it couldn't hurt. It bolts to the front of the throttle body in the middle of the butterfly. Supposedly, it smooths out the air going into the plenum and lets another like 36 cfm or something enter the motor. All in all they advertise a few more horsepower... whether it's true or not, I dont know. But it cant hurt.

That add NOTHING to a stock engine, but one pulling in around 450 horse does get a power add.....JUST BUY THE CHEAPEST ONE OUT THERE.....I think that it the JET one...look in summet

Do not get the JET airfoil. It doesn't bolt in like normal airfoils do. You have to wedge it on the Throttle body and keep it in place with the boot that goes from the TB to the MAF. A friend of mine had it and he hated it. I got the one from SLP. It goes on sale every now and then on the webiste for like $25, just keep checking. I don't know about the TPIS airfoil, just make sure it bolts in if you get the kit. If you buy an aftermaret TB they usually come with them already encompassed in the casting. That at least should tell you that its a good idea to have. It won't give you bolt on HP, but it's part of building a good intake, and little things add up.

I've got the HyperTech one and no complaints about the way it installs. Stay away from the Comps Cam version...cheap piece of plastic crap.

They straighten the airflow. Go with a cheap but good 1. It won't make much of a difference on a stock engine, u might not even be able to feel it. When it is useful is when u get into higher power numbers and u don't need 450HP for them to "work".

If you want to do it for cheap, make it yourself like one of the moderators here (Ede?) did. He used epoxy. You can probably find the thread or post by searching.
