Codes 22 and 34

Hi guys, I'm getting codes 22 and 34. The car will start, but it wants to die when I hit the accelerator, and it will only idle for so long before dying. I replaced the tps yesterday with no resolution to 22. Set it to .54 volts. As far as 22 goes, is there any other potential source for the problem? Also, what are the steps to diagnosing code 34? If been living with this one for a while but I'd like to get it ironed out. I was thinking that the issue could be fuel pump, but the codes tell me otherwise (plus id hate to pull the whole rear end off and have it not be the problem lol). Any help would be greatly appreciated, trying to get her drivable asap!

Is your car an 88’ TPI? I have some diagnostic trees from my 88’ FSM.

I would check your wiring for those sensors, connections and grounds especially near the rear cylinder heads , it does not sound like a fuel pump at all but you can verify with a fuel pressure gauge.

Also if it turns out the MAF is bad your best bet is a used Bosch which are tough to find good used or a brand new Delphi. Rockauto has the best price on the Delphi IIRC.

Re: Codes 22 and 34

Another test for the MAF is either disconnect it and if the car runs better with it disconnected it could mean the sensor is done.

Also with that TPS make sure that the voltage is nice and linear when opening and closing the throttle with your volt meter connected, if it jumps around or spikes while doing this the new sensor could be defective.
