Does a 91 TPI 5.7L motor have a 4-bolt main?
Im looking at building my 91 Z28 into a badass drag strip car and have some wild ideas. But Im wondering if the 350 I have has 2-bolt or 4-bolt mains? Mostly because Im curious if the stock block is worth upgrading or if I should save up and invest in an aftermarket block. I want to keep this as low budget as possible and wont be pushing past 550hp within the next year or maybe more. My current idea is boring it to a 383 and dropping a good Stroker crank, and forged rotating assembly(pistons, rods etc) and then progressively upgrading heads, intake and camshaft to boost power levels as I gain experience on the strip. My main question that needs answering is the 2-bolt/4-bolt question. Any other advice or opinions are welcomed

It's probably a 2 bolt. Don't worry, your mains aren't going to twist out of the block. If the engine doesn't need to be torn down, I'd start with the heads, intake and camshaft until you're ready for a power adder. Then, I would go forged bottom end.

Write down the final parts cost for your proposed 383 build vs it's hoped for Hp and compare that with a LS engine cost vs Hp.
