Older stroker motor and TPI

I just bought an 89 firebird that a friend of mine blew the motor up in (cracked block and spun bearings, not useable). I want to get an older sbc (4bbolt), stroke it to 383 and slap in it. Now my question is this. Will it work with TPI? like what kind of holes and what not will I have to drill in the block for all the sensors and all for the acceriores? Or do the TPI motors use the same holes as the older blocks? Thanks!

If your going to use an older block your going to need to get it clearanced for the larger stroke which unless youve done it before leave it up to the pros to do. I believe all of the neccesary holes will be in the block already and just have a plug in them.

Should work with some PROM tuning, fuel delivery changes, depending on how radical it is...my only question is, what's your goal? TPI is not a very good system for power and higher-rpms...but if you want the stroker solely for the torque and not to build power, then TPI will work great. TPI systems make mucho torque, they just drop-out low in the rpm range cause they don't flow a heck of a lot.

I'm kinda also thinking of a zz4 short block. Are our heads worth keeping? What's the specs on stock TPI 350 heads (cc, vavles, etc) thanks guys!

Hey for a little bit of advice, do your homework before you start to buy things for your motor. I have been slowly buying parts for a year and now that I am putting the motor together I have ran into a problem with my 383 build. One major problem I want you to know of is TO BUY CAP SCREW RODS!!!!!! with your rotating assembally. If you dont do this your most likly to run into the broblem that I am hiving right now! My rods wont clear the cam. I am going to change the cam that I already have for a small base circle cam and hopefully that will fix my problem, because if it doesnt I'm done for!!!!
