Dual air intake
Hi, my car is a 1986 Firebird TA with 305 TPI. It has the factory single air intake with the maf sensor between the metal filter box that sits on the wheel well and the plastic air box rhat connects to the intake on the TPI.
I'm looking at a dual snorkle air intake that came off of a 1988 Z-28. The seller says that it originally came off of a Firebird. My question is if this thing will fit on my car? Will I have to change out the metal panel that holds the hood latch? Thanks in advance!

Re: Dual air intake
I was under the impression they only came on Camaros, and would not fit in Firebirds due to the lower sloping hood.

Not true. But there is more room on Camaros.

I doubt this is accurate...Firebird noses / hods were lower so theres no room for it over the rad support

Re: Dual air intake
Yup, as said above, it won't fit the birds due to low hood line.

Re: Dual air intake
actually, i just thought... it could be for the TBI dual snorkel intake in which case it was i think an earlier 80s Camaro...they prolly put on a bird s it "came off a bird"
That wont work on TPI though..
